A Day of Community

The team had such a spectacular day today! It's hard to even put everything into words that we experienced.
To start the morning off we had devotions outside while listening to the waves. Matt, Meg, and Torii were able to join us making the time that much more special. We talked about how we can each use the gifts God has blessed us with every day to share His love. It has been wonderful having time to not only do daily devotions with the team, but to have our new friends join us to spend time in the word of God.
Shortly after devotions it was time to head off into the community. We had the most amazing time going into different communities today. The team was able to help horses, pigs, dogs, and cats. Dr. Bri and Katelyn were especially excited to see some horses today, one of which was a brand new foal. The people who care for the horses were so happy to have someone to do exams and give tetanus vaccines. Most importantly, several Bibles were handed out (print and audio), and the families were prayed with. The joy we saw on people's faces today is almost indescribable. They were so grateful, not only that we helped their animals, and that we took time to spend with them, but that we had Bible to share with each of them (audio recording and written). Angel has been such a God send this week, his happiness is contagious, making everyone around him smile and just feel special.
Matt and his wife Jocelyn made us all a delicious lunch that we enjoyed on their porch watching the ocean and enjoying the breeze. It was great to just sit down together and fellowship for a little while.
We later headed into a local city for some supplies Matt needed. This was such a fun experience. We saw kids having a blast riding a tractor train, met a local veterinarian, and saw some beautiful scenery. We then headed back to the rescue where Drs. Ginger and Bri saw a few more dogs that needed last minute care before calling it a day.
We rounded out the day with a wonderful dinner followed by singing and playing music. Katelyn was thrilled that she had drums to play for us!
To round it out, the day was spectacular. It was a day of laughter, of friends, and most of all community. We are grateful for the relationships we are building, and the work God is doing! One of our main prayers before coming on this trip was to be an encouragement to the people here, and we are beyond grateful to have seen that prayer answered!
